MOTHER EARTH AND FATHER SKY - A MEDITATION
Put some soft music on and lie or sit in a comfortable position. Bring your awareness to your feet and stretch out each toe and your feet, tensing the muscles around your ankles and heels and calves, then releasing. Working your way up through your body,your thighs, hips lower abdomen rib cage, the inner organs, shoulders, upper arms, lower arms, hands, fingers, stretching and releasing and letting go. Move your awareness up to your neck, jaw, teeth, tongue, nose, eyes eyebrows, skull and scalp, tensing and then letting go. Now move your awareness back to your feet slowly by working back in the opposite direction and checking that you are relaxed, bringing your mind to a place of stillness.. Imagine that you have two tubes that leave the centre of each foot and lead down to the centre of the earth.
Now, think of the earth as your Eternal Mother who provides everything that you need for daily living and care. Mother Earth never judges you and is willing to take everything you give her, positive and negative. Imagine now that you are gathering all the heavy energy from your body, any negative thoughts or any pain and offering it to her through your body and down through your feet to her core. Here she transforms and cleanses your energy and you feel it coming back through your feet and into your body and work its way through to your centre where it flows freely to fill the empty spaces in your healing body.
Now bring your awareness to the centre of you head, to our crown. Imagine you have a tube leaving this centre and it goes to the sky, to the heavens, to the sun. Think of this place as where you Eternal Father resides. Father Sun watches over you, guides you, lights the way, day and night. He is there for you always to draw inner strength and guidance from. Bring your awareness now to the light that is coming from this place through the centre of your head, down into your body with your in breath where it comes to the centre of your body and merges with the feminine, mother energy, combing to bring balance into your body. Notice how different the two energies are and well they merge together to fill in all the empty space, cleansing and strengthening your body.
Rest in this space of inner healing for as long as you like. Now it is time to bring your awareness slowly back into your body, starting once again with your toes, stretching them out, feeling the stretch in your ankles and heels, through your calve, up through your thighs, your lower hips, our abdomen, rib cage, arms, hands, neck, face, skull and scalp. Stretching, and when you are ready open your eyes. Take note of how relaxed you feel and if you are truly back in your body. If not, rub your ankles for a few minutes and walk barefoot for a while. Drink a glass of water.
