
It stands to reason that if the people in your business feel productive, positive, and focused on good service- not just for themselves, but for the whole team and their customers and surrounding community, and even for humanity itself, that this will affect the Spirit of Your Business. You will know doubt know by now that the vibe you create around you is affected by how you are feeling in any moment, and this is felt by anyone who comes close to you. It is the same with your business. It becomes a magnet for positive, productive customers - the best kind to work with - when it has a positive, productive, and kindness vibration.
Being present in the moment, having an attitude of gratitude and optimism, and being present with and mindful of your thoughts about yourself and others, are keys to creating a positive and welcoming vibe - or spirit - around your business, and around yourself. There is a saying that I love to remind me of this: "What you think about you bring about", so next time your find yourself "stinking thinking" with a smile, know that the vibe you are putting out around you is going to reflect what you are feeling, not necessarily what you are portraying.
An evidence-based book that I have found really helpful to understand how this works is "Positivity" by Barbara Fredrickson. There are three publications on the subject, each with a different focus. I have read her first one ("Research to release your inner optimist and thrive"), and just ordered the next two.
