WAKE UP WITH HEATHER PRICE
I am here to wake you up,
To wake you up to your true nature
To remind you of who you really are.
I am here to wake you up,
To encourage you to step up
To step out
To be resilient
To have trust in yourself
To be brave and to keep your heart open.
I am here to wake you up,
To remind you to be grateful
To remind you to love and respect the earth
You walk on.
This earth, Mother Earth, provides
All you need on this journey,
I am here to remind you of that.
And to remind you that you are on a mission
To create light
To create joy
To create love
At every opportunity.
To know your right to be loved and to love freely.
For you are a divine being of light and love,
This is your true nature.
I am here to assist you to remember
Who you are, Where you have come from,
And Where you are going.
Wake up now!
Know yourself and know your mission
As a spirit being in human form,
For you are the co-creator of your life
And you are one with all of life,
All creatures breathe the air you breathe
All of life depends on your being here right now,
You are a part of nature’s dreaming.
I am here to tell you
You are not alone on this journey
And this is not the only world to travel in,
Go within and find and know
Your animal guides and teachers.
Look up and feel the love of your eternal father
In sky and sun,
And your ancestors in the stars,
They will show you the way.
Breathe down into the earth
And feel your life-force being renewed
By your earth mother and crystal beings.
It is time to wake up!
And there is no other who can walk this path for you,
You are the one.
And though only you can walk this path
You never walk it alone.
And at times fear will be your companion.
It is time now to wake up and embrace your fear,
To love your fear through your understanding of it,
And to live in joy despite your fear.
For fear has enabled you to stretch yourself
Beyond your imagination,
And to awaken you to your brave-heart.
Walk now in the light
Walk in consciousness and awareness,
Trust in your self and your life’s dreaming,
And know I walk beside you,
And know I love you
And I believe in you,
And have held your dreams until
You could hold them for your self.
That time is now.
THE MANDALA
by Heather Price 22.04.11
A mandala is a Sanskrit word that represents a circle – I prefer to think of is as a ‘sacred circle’. Mandalas are used to hold sacred space and create boundaries for intense exploration and focused intention.
I was first introduced to mandala through my work with transpersonal counselor and breath worker Margaret Hede who became a close friend.
Mandalas can be created in any number of mediums, and are typically seen as holding Buddhist sacred prayers and intentions. Most of us will be familiar with their beautiful sand mandalas.
When creating a mandala, be aware that you are creating a sacred space in which to take something for appreciation, illumination, healing, or expansion.
Recently I set out to create 100 mandalas, one day at a time, and got so far as 85 before I felt to move on. The healing had felt complete. The mandalas were created with the intention to hold my heart for healing around the wounding of the Sacred Feminine. Most of the mandalas I created held pictures of my heart. When I found myself drawing a mandala where my Sacred Feminine was being reborn form the sacred womb of Mother Earth, out to the Grandmother trees and the clear sky, I knew the healing was complete (see picture above).
When I set out on my pathway of initiation into Shamanic Practice, I was guided to the beach nearby every morning to create a mandala in the sand. I would begin each mandala by laying a circle of gratitude, choosing a shell or stone to represent something I was thankful for in my life. I would choose special stones to represent each direction, the direction of Spirit in the East, Body in the North, Heart in the West, and Mind in the South. I would then link each of these directions as I searched for what I was grateful for in each of these directions. Then I could create a circle within this circle to represent anything I was inviting into my worlds – my four directions. Finally, I would listen well for the blocks that might try to divert me from my true path of healing and authenticity, and would dig a hole next to the mandala and bury found objects that represented these blocks. I wouldn’t move from the place I chose to create the mandala, and when I finally walked away, I would not allow myself to look back. This represented my determination to let go of my limiting beliefs from the past, and to move forward in a state of gratitude and confidence.
May you go in peace and love now, and walk in grace and gratitude.
Aho – thank you, Heather.

Maṇḍala is a Sanskrit that means "circle”…In various spiritual traditions; mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of aspirants and adepts, as a spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. …. The psychoanalyst Carl Jung saw the mandala as "a representation of the unconscious self,” and believed his paintings of mandalas enabled him to identify emotional disorders and work towards wholeness in personality.

Keeping Your Faith by Keeping Your Focus
So often we know what we need, we know what we want, we know what we deserve, we know what we desire, we know what is possible, and yet it still never seems to happen – why?
If I had the answer to that and could prove it, I would be very, very, rich.
What if we change our focus a little here – put our focus on how we can attract what we want, rather than get too hooked into why we never get what we want, and then see what happens when we keep it there for a while.
And, instead of focusing on what we need, want, deserve, desire and what we know is possible, what if we were to focus on what we have that brings us joy and love, peace and satisfaction, and see what happens.
Or, what if we were to focus on how we will feel when we get what we feel we need, want, deserve, desire and what we know is possible?
Manifesting your dreams is not only about focusing on them, or how you will feel when you have them, it is also about having faith that they will come true. When you lose your focus, you lose your faith. When you lose your faith, you lose your focus.
So – how do you keep your faith and your focus?
1. Number one rule – watch your self-talk at all times. If it feels light and right then keep thinking that way. It is sure to take you to what is light and right. If, on the other hand, it feels harsh and heavy, then it will take your away from what is light and right. Remember the Universe is listening to your thoughts too.
2. Know your limiting beliefs and bring them into the light. What is the most limiting of all the beliefs you have? I am not worthy…I am not good enough…People I love will betray or abandon me….I will get into trouble if I speak my truth…..and so on. Bring these beliefs into the light. Validate them within their place and time, and breathe into them with compassion and love. Then bring your self back into the now, and challenge them as an adult with choice. Never judge yourself or the part of you that holds the limiting belief.
3. Say an affirmation every day until you believe it – not only say it – feel how good you feel when you say it…I believe in myself and trust in my journey.
4. Remember that the world is what you think it is – what you focus on is when your draw toward you, so be mindful of where your attention goes.
5. Know that the world within reflects the world without, and the world without reflects the world within.
6. Keep an attitude of gratitude at all times. Notice what makes you feel good and do more of that. Be grateful for the small things and soon you will be vibrating an irresistible aura of love and light.
Recently I held a workshop for almost thirty women. I asked them to introduce themselves and to share what brought most joy to them, and how they brought joy to others. As I watched each person share, I began to notice something amazing. The two women who said that they found most joy in dancing were sitting next to each other. The three women who said that cooking and preparing and sharing food brought them most joy, were also sitting next to each other. The five women who said that being in nature brought them most joy – were sitting next to each other! And so it went on. It has never been clearer to me than it was in that moment – we have an energy field that clearly vibrates our patterns out to the world – and like magnets, people or situations who share similar patterns of energy are drawn to us.
So my final message – it is time to step and out to meet your dreams, by living consciously and confidently, keeping an open and resilient heart, in love and gratitude always, and all ways.

Earth Angel
One day, some time ago, on my way to college where I was studying to be a counselor, I had an experience that will forever stay with me to remind me that angels walk with us everywhere, in many guises, to teach and guide us, and to bring us into consciousness and truth.
This particular day seemed grand to me, for a reason later revealed; I was overflowing with light and gratitude. I had a pack on my back filled with heavy books, yet my step was strong and free. While I was aware of the busy traffic around me from the whooshing sound of passing cars, it felt like I was walking in an open field.
As I looked ahead I noticed the people walking in front of me changing course, seemingly walking around something, perhaps to avoid an obstacle. I then noticed a man dressed in ragged clothes, staggering towards me. Unlike others around me, I felt no need to avoid this man; there was something familiar about him, a vibration I felt comfortable with on some level. So, when he finally reached me, I looked him firmly in the eyes and opened my heart to him.
The minute I made eye contact with this man, I knew him to be an earth angel. When our eyes met I noticed his eyes were a clear, bright Mediterranean-blue. I smiled at him, he smiled back, then straightening himself to his full height he reached into his pocket and pulled out something. I stopped for a moment, and looked at what he had in his outstretched hand; it was a picture of an angel. The man’s eyes smiled deeply and knowingly into my heart, then he put the picture back in his pocket, and continued to swagger, seemingly mindlessly, down the street.
I stood still for a few minutes and watched this man, this earth angel walk away, observing the people avoiding him along the way.
As I recommenced my walk, my heart was beating fast, and I knew my path ahead could be clear, as long as I took the time to be aware of what I felt as well as what I saw; and to look beyond what was in front of me.
In moments of fear, or doubt, I remember that day, and that out of all the busy people walking along the street, the angel had stopped to talk to me, and I had stopped to talk to him. We had met each other in love, without fear.
Every day since that experience, I strive to be that clear and knowing again. I don’t always succeed, but with each person I choose to spend time with, extend a hand to and endeavour to connect deeply with, I invite them to see the earth angel in me as clearly as I see him/her in them.
I notice that in my both my best and most vulnerable, wobbly moments, like the earth angel, there are people who walk blindly past me, some even run the other way. Then there are those who stop and look deeply into my eyes, opening their heart to me, they accept me for who I am, and when I stagger, they help me stand up again. When I have moved in too quickly or closely to them, or asked too much of them because I am feeling overwhelmed with self-condemnation and fear, they allow me to express myself or else give me space until I have found myself again.
When I first meet these beloved ones they fearlessly look me straight in the eye with an open heart, and they immediately know who I am; this absolute knowing allows me to stand tall and to remember who I am myself.
And when we have connected and are standing face to face, eye to eye, heart to heart, when I reach deep inside of myself and hold out my hand and say – this is who I am underneath all the other ‘stuff’ that gets in the way – they smile, and say; “Of course, I knew who you were the minute I saw you”. Most of all, they don’t ask me to be more than what I am, instead they hold me long and close enough to allow me to want to be all I can be.
HORSE TALK
I'm sure many of you reading this article had had the experience of being able to read your pet's mind, and often feeling they can read yours. Of course, when we finally accept that anything is possible and there are no limits, and we are patient and persistent, we can all learn to communicate with horses telepathically. Some of us have been blessed with a natural gift to do this and not so long ago I discovered I was one such fortunate person.
While I have been intuitively working with humans for many years in my shamanic healing and counselling practice, several years ago I was invited to work with a stable of racehorses by a horse trainer who had heard of my work with the two legged kind. At the time I had no idea of what I was soon to discover; my ability to freely communicate with most horses and receive a history of their illnesses, challenges and concerns.
Having lived and worked on the land for thirty five years I had a natural rapport with these beautiful creatures and it was easy to connect with them and talk to them as I always have. You can imagine my surprise however when the first horse I worked with, a beautiful chestnut gelding, actually answered my question. What is wrong with you boy, hey? Why are you so sad? He told me he was miffed at being put out of his stable and didn't like the male jockey who was riding him at present. He couldn't understand what happened to the female rider who he had really liked and done so well with. Now when I say he told me, it is not like he suddenly produced a voice and literally spoke to me in my language. Rather, a message came clearly into my mind and if felt like he had whispered in my ear. When I told the trainer what he had told me he started to laugh and then confirmed everything I had told him. He promised to put him back into his special stable with the sunshine and open air and would speak to the jockey about developing better rapport with him.
A week later when I visited, the colt was very happy and high spirited again; it's amazing what a good talking session from a willing and intent listener can do to help!Another horse I spoke to on my first amazing day of horse-talk told me he hated racing and wanted to be a hack. There were a lot of reasons for this but it was hard to convince anyone to listen to him, or me. However, a series of events over the next few weeks and a trusting and understanding trainer and generous owners lead to him being turned out to begin a new life as a show horse. I looked forward to hearing of his progress, and last report he is extremely happy and doing well.
There have been many opportunities since that first day for me to develop my newfound gift and I have been able to act as a mediator between horse and trainer. It is my hope to help as many horses as possible to lead happy, healthy and contented lives.
Walking and working as a shamanic healer has been a challenging journey at times and these beautiful creatures of nature have enriched my life. We often forget where they come from and that they have offered their free spirit to help us in so many ways. Sometimes we attempt to break their spirit with our own determination and will, and sometimes we succeed. A horse under stress will respond to its rider much the same as a troubled child or teenager responds to his or her parent or teacher. He will draw on his earlier experiences to make decisions and choices and if they have been mostly negative and uninspiring he will be reluctant to repeat the same experience and rebel or create an illness to prevent him having to so something he would rather not.
Being kind to a troubled horse and being aware of past trauma enables a horse carer to bond with his horse and build trust and then anything is possible. Learning to communicate with your horse, in what ever way that might be and being grateful to him every day for giving up his freedom for your pleasure builds respect and invites partnership between you, rather than enforcing one creature's will over riding another.
So take a tip from a horse whisperer, and develop your own way of listening and talking to your trusted steed and I guarantee you will have many happy and fulfilling years together.

KISSES FROM FISHES
Recently I spent a few days visiting my mother by the sea at the sunshine Coast and had an experience I simply had to write about and share with others.
It was a glorious, sunny day I had been swimming in the ocean for quite a while before I stopped to take more interest in the little shiny fish that were darting here and there between swimmers legs. They were scattered every where and busy at their work and play. I decided to test my animal whispering skills and began to speak to the fish, introducing myself and explaining to them that I had a way with animals and so far had been able to have a two way conversation with most of them. I asked them if they could let me know if they could hear me and waited to see what would happen. Nothing happened for a minute or so, so I began to walk back to the waters edge. All of a sudden I became aware of something brushing my leg and looked down to see dozens of fish looking at me with their curious black eyes. There must have been more than a hundred fish swimming in a circle in a semi-clockwise direction around me, some darting between my legs. They were swimming rather slowly so I could see them clearly and seemed rather big compared to how they normally look when you see the mind individually forma distance. Over whelmed by the loving energy they were projecting toward me and squatted down so I could see them closely. They seemed to kiss my fingers as I ran my hands through the water and I felt so blessed and grateful I began to cry. Standing up, I looked around to see if anyone else had witnessed this miracle and strangely done was close by except a little girl who didn't seem to notice what was happening. Giving my thanks to the little fish for their love and trust, I stepped out of the circle and began to walk back. All of a sudden Two teenage girls came toward me and stepped into the circle. One of them looked down and let out a loud scream as she exclaimed: My God, look how many fish there are, I have never seen anything like it! Immediately the fish broke the circle and scattered in all directions, laughing as they fled back to play more games with the unconscious tow legged people who they swam around all day long. Laughing I walked back to my towel and sat for a ew minutes and absorbed my experience more deeply, my body tingling from the cold water and the sensation of being kissed by such sweet, shiny little creatures with their bright, loving eyes.
The next day I returned home and the day after went for an early morning walk by the bay. There were children fishing with their father and lots of boats on the water passing by. Something caught my eye nearby in the water and then two beautiful dolphins appeared to say good morning, much to everyones' surprise and delight. It seemed clear that I am being prepared for a deeper connection with the creatures of the sea. This insight was confirmed a few days later when I gathered with some friends to play music and share stories. One member of the group began to talk about how so many of our beautiful sea creatures have been fished out and how our beloved record keepers of the sea, the whales, will most likely be extinct within the next twenty five years if we don't do something to stop their illegal and brutal slaughter. It was a sad note to the lovely connection I had had with these special creatures that bring so much beauty to our existence. I will never be able to look at the ocean in the same way since my recent experiences. My wish is that all two legged peoples could learn to communicate with the creatures of the land, sea and sky as I have done and realise they are here to love, teach, guide and support us as we are here to cherish and protect them.

Wild Horse Running Free
Across the wide, open plain he ran
A small, black smudge on parched and dusty earth
From a distance barely seen
And yet his very presence causing a pause of breath
Anticipation, awe, respect – even fear.
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
Never certain which path this magnificent creature
Would take or appear on.
For him, there was no one way to be seen.
He ran with the wind, day and night, guided only by the sun and stars
And a yearning for greatness in his heart,
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
Not to be tamed, as a young colt he bucked and bit and neighed loudly
In protest, in delight, in glee.
Teasing, indulging, shining, pleasing,
Testing boundaries, unbridled, not to contained,
His heart big, wide and open.
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
Time passed, seasons changed,
And still the wind called and guided him.
With Sun and Stars his friends
He claimed his place, his herd, his progeny.
Running with pride he could not be leashed, nor tamed, nor bound
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
Finally, the earth opened beneath him, beckoning him to stillness,
An invitation to rest in green pastures,
Small and fenced, contained.
Still he bit, and bucked, unyielding
Claiming his right to dream; to be
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
Hearing him at last,
A dark winter solstice night called him
As a Cancer Moon carved a new path for him
Leading his great spirit home on the wings of angels
To claim his place with ancestors in the stars.
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
In melancholy moments, longing for his company,
Hi herd now look to the night sky
To find his spirit, no longer bound nor held back.
Now one with day and night, earth, fire, water, ether and air,
He can be found everywhere –
Run Wild Horse – Run Free
A small, black smudge on parched and dusty earth
From a distance barely seen
And yet his very presence causing a pause of breath
Anticipation, awe, respect – even fear.
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
Never certain which path this magnificent creature

To claim his place with ancestors in the stars.
Wild horse running free, wild horse running free.
In melancholy moments, longing for his company,
Hi herd now look to the night sky
To find his spirit, no longer bound nor held back.
Now one with day and night, earth, fire, water, ether and air,
He can be found everywhere –
Run Wild Horse – Run Free
